I'm from Liverpool from England. My french is pretty poor but I tried to translate what I wanted to say in the presentation thread but it may have gotten lost in translation :)

Here is what I wanted to say...

Hello! My name is Jack, I live in England, I'm 18 and my French is very very bad, Sorry lol. The football team which I support is called 'Everton FC' but I want to support an football team in France too, so I decided to join this forum. I do not know why, but there is something that makes me want to support LOSC!

:)

Welcome to you friend;)
you did not wrong club ^ ^

You can already follow a pure product from us this season, in the person of Yohan Cabaye in Newcastle

And you will see very soon a world class player, and which formed the LOSC has signed for Chelsea for € 40: Eden Hazard, A real phenomenon

Welcome Jack !

It's a real surprise to see an Everton fan wanting to support Lille but i'm pleased with your choice, it proves English like football. I think you picked the right team in France because Paris is now ruled by some Qataris bringing money but not the signings (when you read all the crap around the new PSG which wants to attract Higuain, Kaka,...), Lyon is suffering but is still a good team and Marseille is sinking deeper and deeper season by season.

Unfortunatly your team beat mine in the FA Cup this year. I'm a Sunderland fan, my dad's fault  But in fact i'm glad to be a Sunderland fan and last season became incredible since MON took over late November.

As Huyo said, you might have seen some of Cabaye's game with Newcastle this year and next year you'll be able to enjoy Eden Hazard in the Prem. These two lads went through Lille's youth team to become part of our greatest adventure of the last 50 years with the Cup and Ligue 1 title.

Again, welcome !

Thank you :)

Yes Cabaye has been a bargain for Newcastle, though I don't think I like his personality.
Hazard seems very talented, a lot of pressure on him though!

Is Lille the french equivalent of Liverpool?, please tell me it isn't! French football was really exciting this year, David vs Goliath in a sense with Montpellier overcoming PSG to win the league! though I don't know a lot about Ligue 1 football, I do know that the likes of Everton or Sunderland wouldn't be able to to do that in the premier league.

Aye, sorry about that, with what happened after that match, I'd have preferred to have lost there and then  (it still hurts). He's an improvement on Bruce haha, went of the boil a bit towards the end of the season didn't you?

Do you think Hazard will be a success? sadly there's not a lot of Lille connected players to speak about with Everton, We have a couple French though. Silvain Distin and Magaye Gueye

I couldn't say if Lille is the french equivalent of Liverpool. Why do you think it would be ? We do play in red and we had J.Cole on loan but i'm not sure we are the equivalent of LFC.

This year has been really exciting because even if we knew that Montpellier was growing stronger we weren't expecting them top of the league at the start of the season. Nobody can be sure but when Paris sacked Kombouaré in december they were first and they were playing some good football. We all know the end, Montpellier played very well while Paris started to struggle to win games even with Carlo Ancelotti as a coach and some star-players as Motta, Alex or Maxwell. So yes it was a kind of David vs Goliath.

About this FA Cup game, I can't blame Everton because you play some good football. I'm quite sorry you were beaten by Liverpool even if I wanted them to beat you just because I wanted to see Sunderland against them (I was dreaming of going to Wembley for the semi-finals to see a Liverpool-Sunderland game! hihi). I didn't understand Sunderland's end of season. We did so well and in feb or march we just collapsed. I think it's a bit of a shame because we could have fought for an European ticket..

We are all crazy about Hazard. He is a genius, for us. I think he will need a bit of time to be at his top level but he is an amazing young talented player. If Chelsea uses him well I'm sure he'll do fine. He can deliver such good passes and he can dribble, shoot, he is not afraid. He is also quite a strong player, he stays on his feet and goes to ground only when it's a real foul and he can't do anything against it.
I've heard of M.Gueye and he looks a promising young player. You bought him or he played at Metz, I think. Have you heard about any of Everton's summer targets ?

You said you were surprised to see an Everton fan supporting Lille so I assumed there was some connection between our rivals and Lille. Will Joe Cole be going back to Anfield or staying at Lille?

Do you think it will be PSG's title next year or do you believe Montpellier or yourselves or Lyon will be able to compete for the title?

We were the better team in the replay at stadium of light for almost the whole game I thought, we were quite lucky at Goodison Park because it was a fairly even match I thought. And no problem, in the future you will support Everton instead :), sorry we crushed your dream, how many years since Sunderland won a trophy? around 40?, I kind of know how that feels, we haven't won a trophy for 17 years and we are the 4th most successful English club!

Hazard was brilliant at Lille wasn't he, sounds like an honest guy, though he is portrayed as arrogant by the media over here. Chelsea are rebuilding a very good team, I wouldn't be surprised if Hazard was lifting the premier league next year with him at the front, Hazard, Hulk and Torres is a scary thought!
I think Gueye played for Strasbourg?, for a youngster he has done well this season, had a very good game at the stadium of light in the replay. We don't spend a lot of money usually, I suspect we will sign Pienaar and possibly Donovan but I hope we don't sell Baines or Fellaini.

How do you think Sunderland will do next year?
Also how will Lille spend the Hazard money?

So you think

Joe Cole will return to England and will not stay in Lille.
He made a season or very good nor bad. Nothing more. By lot against it brought by his experience in the locker room.

For the 2013 title in Ligue 1, do I think Paris office favorites. We will not be far away. Lyon is a value even if they are in a rebuilding phase.
Marseille will remake a crappy season, I feel well and I hope. They are our worst enemies: D with Lens.
Montpellier and Bordeaux are figures of outsiders.

For us, the coming season is a pivotal season with the passage in our great stadium seats 50,000.

I think if Hulk and Marino come to Chelsea. Hazard with Torres and they will be favorites next season.

Lille will soon recruit Marvin Martin Sochaux for about € 10 million (which you can see the Euro with the France team)
Other names are a 100% League announced alone, mostly international Cape Verdean, Mendes who plays for Ligue 2 at Havre.
If we could get a shot at Joe Cole this season, it would be cool.

Ah ! Nop, I can't see any real connexion between Lille and Liverpool except for Joe Cole's loan this year. The new Liverpool manager wants Joe so he decided to try his luck on the Merseyside. I'm a bit sad letting him go because in my opinion he would have been better this year by attending at the full pre-season prep. Anyway, it was an honour to see Cole a year at Lille.

PSG is surely the side all the medias would see champion but I hope Lille can make something out of the new season. as Huyo said we are moving to our new 50.000 seated stadium and the club wants to play the top3 in France. Lille's manager, Rudi Garcia, said he wanted a winger (we have lost Gervinho last year, Obraniak and Hazard this year). We're signing Marvin Martin, a 24 year old French international, he appears to play kinda like Cabaye and we have missed this profil during the last season.

The first game at Goodison was brilliant from SAFC and you deserved your win at the SoL so both teams had their chances. I quite like Everton but Sunderland remains my English club !

Hazard was portrayed by the English tabloids as arrogant but if you ask in France you'll quickly realize he was appreciated of all. Hazard didn't want to be seen as an arrogant player, I think, but his agent (John Bico) wanted to negociate to get a huge prime.

About M.Gueye, you were right. He came from Strasbourg! ;) Pienaar is a really good player, so is Donovan, I hope you'll get the two signings. Baines is a great player if he leaves Everton I'ld be happy to see him at Lille

I don't what MON has in mind for next season but it's incredible how many players we always sign. We need a striker, after don't think anything else is really needed.
I'm sure Lille will do good stuff next year!

Welcome mate ! :D

I do prefer Liverpool FC but when LOSC played at Anfield two years ago, we had the chance to visit Goodison Park for free, just by asking the security members... Good memories we'll never forget

Cheers !

Just wanted to say hello.

When the team announced the new logo, I was impressed by the video and started paying more attention to the team. Then I was on my favorite NFL forum and saw a poster with an old Lille logo and had to ask him about the club.

Since then I've started paying much more attention to the club.

I was quite impressed with Debuchy in the Euros. I hope he stays for a few more seasons. Hope you don't mind me hanging around, and learning about your fine club.

Welcome aboard !

Thanks for your interest !

The new logo is pretty well, but according to me it's now more a logo like in a business company than a logo for a football club. In 5 five years I'm almost sure it will be outmoded...

We all hope the same as you for Debuchy. He was born close to Lille, he's here since 1993. His tournament is interesting, but I think we saw his limits. He's very offensive because he initially is midfielder, sometimes it's not perfect in his defensive field. Perfect for the French League, that's why he has to stay in Lille.

Thank you for the welcome.

DeBuchy did struggle a bit in the Euros, but that was against Spain. He was fine against England, if I remember correctly. You can be much less tactical and get by in England, so a tactical and technical player can thrive there. All that said, I still hope he stays.

What are the odds on Affelay signing?

Logo - when the new t-shirts come out, I'm going to have to trade a Saints shirt with my friend Antoine.
